Room with a View

We are enjoying the view out of the window of our hospital room. The nurses say it is  one of the nicest rooms on the floor. It looks westward over a  treed ravine and, in the distance, Bayview Avenue at Eglington.

Another benefit of  the room is that it is tucked away at the end of the hall, so it is nice and quiet with less germs walking by!!!

Last night I had a very good sleep! However, my blood pressure was low through the night and the nurses were concerned. A little IV fluid fixed me up.

This morning I was told that I needed a blood transfusion due to  lowering levels of haemoglobin and, as a result, a rising heart rate.

Nick arrived bringing a delicious juice of kale, apple, orange and ginger. (He is making this at at our friends' house nearby).

Then we had some great news. The nurse came back and saw that my blood pressure and heart rate were normal again.  My bloodwork had also returned showing that my haemoglobin levels are on the way back up. The transfusion is not necessary at the moment.

My pain is being very well managed, and I have been able to do a few spins of the ward today.


Hello to all- Love, Lee

Our view now at 6:49pm. It's Nick. 

Lee has been eating and drinking well today and is off the IV. The last nurse told us earlier that if it were up to her she'd discharge Lee today! Now waiting for haemoglobin level to pass 90 g/L, the higher the better.

It's now 10:05pm and I'm preparing to leave as the ward settles down to the night routine. The hum of the ventilation and gentle sound of compressed air compliments soft voices. 

A friend, that used to be a nurse, came by for a short visit. After she left she sent a text that spoke of how well Lee Anne is healing for day 2 post op .... amazing that there is no redness or swelling. Another testament to the power of effective prayer.

As we read in James 5:16 from 'The Message' translation of the Bible, 

"The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn't rain, and it didn't—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again. My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God's truth, don't write them off. Go after them. Get them back and you will have rescued precious lives from destruction and prevented an epidemic of wandering away from God."

So thank you for your prayers that have again been answered today.
